VEX Robotics Basketball Competiton

The 2025 VEX Robotics Competition at Bridgehampton School brought high energy and excitement to the gym as four student teams competed in a basketball-inspired engineering challenge, using custom-built catapults to score baskets in just two minutes. Cheered on by classmates and faculty, the event highlighted both technical skills and school spirit, with the Blue and Purple teams advancing to the finals. Judges included BHS teacher Mr. Giosi and alumna Ms. Olivia, a UC Berkeley engineering grad, along with longtime program supporter Mrs. Julie. In a thrilling final round, the Purple team—Christian Pinckney and Jordan Hardin—won with 12 points, while Engher Suarez and Leo McDonald of the Blue team followed closely with 8. Looking ahead, Bridgehampton plans to join the global VEX V5 Competition for 2025–2026, where students will take on the new game “Pushback,” gaining hands-on experience in robotics design, programming, and teamwork as they prepare for regional events.
