A Trip to the Met Opera

As part of an immersive learning initiative, our students attended a Metropolitan Opera performance of La Bohème, a French opera inspired by the writings of Henri Murger and composed by Giacomo Puccini. The production followed young artists in Paris as they explored themes of love, identity, and creativity.
Experiences like these help support language learning by exposing our students to French in a live artistic setting. Connecting vocabulary and pronunciation with emotion and storytelling reinforces cultural understanding, showing how language, music, and the arts intersect across global traditions. Experiences like this deepen students’ appreciation for world cultures and demonstrate how language can be lived through the arts, not just studied in the classroom.
