“Operation Montserrat”

“Operation Montserrat” has proven to be an exceptional learning experience for students at Bridgehampton School, offering a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on, real-world STEM applications.
Through this immersive, simulation-based e-Mission developed by the Challenger Learning Center, Bridgehampton students step into the role of disaster response teams, working collaboratively to support residents of Montserrat during a simulated volcanic eruption and hurricane.
The program stands out for its ability to bring classroom concepts to life. Students are not simply learning about science and math. They are actively applying their knowledge in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment that requires critical thinking, teamwork and effective communication. By analyzing real-time data and making strategic decisions, students gain a deeper understanding of STEM principles while building confidence in their problem-solving abilities.
For Bridgehampton School, “Operation Montserrat” represents the kind of innovative, engaging instruction that prepares students for future success. It fosters collaboration, encourages leadership and provides an unforgettable educational experience that extends far beyond the traditional classroom.
